HEALTH:
A hearty fish that can survive unideal conditions. Middle feeder that will eat what begins to sink down. Typically, he/she will dart at a piece of food a ways away rather than take a piece right next to him/her.
SOCIAL:
A real schooling fish, but also the tank bully. Fish with long fins should NOT be mixed with Tiger Barbs, as the Tiger Barbs will pick at the long fins, and can cause the long finned fish to get sick. They will pick on every fish, including each other. It is important not to let the local boys outnumber the new boys; In other words, if you have three tigerbarbs in your tank, you don't want to introduce more than about four new ones or less than two new ones to the tank, or the lesser group will be hounded almost til death. When something startles them, his/her dorsal fin will stand up straight, kinda resembling an indian chief's headdress.
