Industrial Archeology: Canyon, TX

After visiting Palo Duro Canyon just outside of Canyon, TX, on April 3, 2010, we took a tour around the town of Canyon itself. The first landmark I found interesting was the grain silo and elevator.

After we looked around and photographed the silo, we followed the road next to the rails to find the Canyon Train Station.

Sunlight was quickly escaping, so we went in search of food. Near the restaurant, there was a fenced off area where WTAMU was tearing down their Old Fine Arts Building. Due to it being late evening on the weekend, it struck me as odd that this building, being violently torn apart, sat peacefully. The last photo is not mine, but I found a photo of the original building on Google maps
